About Us

The John E. Fogarty Center is a private, non-profit organization incorporated in 1952 which is committed to providing quality services to adults with developmental disabilities. Our focus is always to strengthen and insure dignity, respect, and choice to those we support.

The Fogarty Center provides support to approximately 300 adults with developmental disabilities and their families within the Greater Providence and surrounding areas.

It is our philosophy that people with developmental disabilities may be active, productive members of the community and, as such, entitled to the same rights, privileges, responsibilities and choices as all citizens.

Accordingly, our mission is to offer exploration, encouragement and positive guidance, concerning individual interests, aptitude and talents, based on personal preferences. Ultimately, our goal is to promote self-determination and personal growth.
